Abstract
Nine monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) of a total of 125 clones selected by an enzyme immunoassay (ELISA) were produced against a human ovarian teratocarcinoma cell line. Within the panel, one antibody (4E3) has shown a close reactivity to OC-125. However, the antigen recognized by 4E3 was found to be different from the CA-125 antigen. The cell surface antigen recognized by 4E3 has a molecular weight over 2 x 10(6) Da and is highly glycosylated as shown by the periodic acid/Schiff reagent.
