Is laparoscopic colectomy a safe procedure in synchronous colorectal carcinoma? Report of a case

Surg Laparosc Endosc. 1995 Feb;5(1):75-6.

Abstract

This clinical report describes a patient with sigmoid cancer who underwent a laparoscopic-assisted sigmoidectomy while also having an unsuspected carcinoma of cecum. We discuss the necessity of a complete preoperative evaluation (total colonoscopy and barium enema) in patients with colon cancers amenable to treatment by laparoscopic approach.
