Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the detection of antileptospiral antibodies in swine sera

Am J Vet Res. 1983 Jun;44(6):1120-2.

Abstract

A genus-specific enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was applied to the detection of antileptospiral antibodies in swine sera. Results of the ELISA directly correlated with the results of the microscopic agglutination test. The ELISA had a sensitivity of 100%, specificity of 86.4%, and predictive accuracy of 91.3%. Because the ELISA is a simple and extremely accurate test, it lends itself as a diagnostic screening test for large numbers of samples.
