Deprivation-induced biochemical changes in the pigeon visual system

Abstract

Deprivation-induced functional modifications in the pigeon visual system have been studied. Different results point to the Wulst as a visual structure affected at metabolic, cellular level by an early monocular deprivation. Cholinergic and noradrenergic systems in the Wulst are affected by early visual deprivation.
