Objective: To describe the food intake among adult residents in 10 provinces(autonomous regions) of China.
Methods: Data was collected from the financial project China Development and Nutrition Health Impact Cohort Survey in 2022-2023. The method of three consecutive 24-h dietary recalls and weighing were used to collect foods and condiments intake data. A total of 9249 adults aged 18 years and above with complete data were studied to compare the differences in food intake among residents with different characteristics.
Results: The average intakes of rice, wheat, other grains and beans, tubers, soybeans, vegetables, fruits, nuts, meat, poultry, fish and shrimp, eggs, dairy products, cooking salt and cooking oil among adult residents in 10 provinces were 191.4, 133.1, 39.9, 33.1, 9.9, 231.8, 42.5, 3.3, 83.9, 14.7, 20.5, 38.4, 28.7, 8.6 and 41.1 g/d, respectively.
Conclusion: The dietary structure of adult residents in 10 provinces(autonomous regions) of China in 2022-2023 is unreasonable.
