[Trial of a diagnostic score in painful abdominal syndromes suggestive of appendicitis in children over 3]

Abstract

A diagnostic score was attributed to 82 children aged 3 to 16 years referred with suspected appendicitis. Results demonstrated the value of the score in increasing diagnostic precision and avoiding appendicectomy of histologically healthy organs and its complications. However, the score requires further development by study of a larger series and by integration of a criterion such as C reactive protein.
