Abstract

There is mutual interference between the positive and negative electrodes in a dual-ion battery. In Li₄Ti₅O₁₂/graphite batteries, strong ion-pairs between Li⁺ and anions may have a detrimental effect on intercalation at both sides: Li⁺ into Li₄Ti₅O₁₂, and anions into graphite.
