Even though advances in noninvasive imaging of the brain have simplified the diagnostic of medullary strokes, clinical recognition can be still challenging. This chapter describes typical as well as rare clinical manifestations of medullary strokes to help clinicians' recognition of this rare but potentially life-threatening disease. It also contains imaging information useful to identify areas likely to be affected by strokes with resulting distinct syndromes.
