[General practice: between academic medicine and alternative medicine?]

Abstract

Academic medicine has continuously changed from a medical art into a technological science. As a consequence, so called alternative methods became increasingly popular, being regarded as a more human and comprehensive medicine. This article tries to give advice how the practitioner could find his position in between the different concepts.
