Vertebrate gastrulation: separation is sticky and tense

Curr Biol. 2008 Jul 22;18(14):R615-7. doi: 10.1016/j.cub.2008.06.016.

Abstract

During vertebrate gastrulation, cells separate into different germ layers. A recent study investigates and quantifies the roles of cell adhesion and cortical tension during germ layer formation in zebrafish.
