New directions in the standard of care for inflammatory arthritis

Postgrad Med. 2006 May:Spec No:24-31.

Abstract

Inflammatory arthritides are associated with progressive joint destruction early in the course of disease; therefore, early diagnosis and treatment with drugs that offer the potential to slow disease progression or induce remission is crucial. This article discusses the most recent approaches to treatment for 3 common inflammatory arthritic conditions: rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and psoriatic arthritis.
