[Studies on chemical constituents of Sambucus adnata]

Abstract

Objective: To study the chemical constituents of Sambucus adnata.

Method: Compounds were isolated by silica gel chromatography. Their structures were elucidated by means of spectral analysis.

Result: Five compounds were isolated and identified as: 1-(3-hydroxy4-methoxyphenyl)-1',2'-ethanediol (1), ursolic acid (2 ), 1-( 3,4,5 -trimethoxyphenyl) -1', 2'-ethanediol (3), lariciresinol (4), 5, 7, 3', 4'-tetramethoxyflavone-3-O-rhamnopyranosyl-(1 --> 6)-glucopyranoside(5).

Conclusion: Compounds 1, 3, 4 and 5 were obtained from this plant for the first time.
