Abstract

The efficacy of coronary reperfusion in acute myocardial infarction has been established for over twenty years. Its results can be further improved by refining both fibrinolytic therapy and angioplasty, but even more so by earlier treatment of larger numbers of patients thanks to the organisation and continuous evaluation of inter-disciplinary networks specially adapted to local needs.
