Abstract
Notch signaling plays a vital role in cell fate decisions in both invertebrate and vertebrate development. Signals exchanged between neighboring cells through the Notch receptor amplify and consolidate molecular differences, which eventually dictate cell fates. In this review, the details of notch signaling will be discussed, with a focus on Lin/Notch repeats (CSL) independent modes.
