Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of camptothecin microsphere's embolization of the internal iliac artery for bladder carcinoma.

Methods: Eighteen patients with inoperable and advanced bladder carcinoma were treated with camptothecin microsphere's super-selective embolization of the internal iliac artery.

Results: Tumor size was reduced significantly, and tumor cells were damaged to various degrees in 17 patients. Adverse effects were not found.

Conclusion: Camptothecin microsphere's embolization of the internal iliac artery is a safe and effective therapy for inoperable and advanced bladder carcinoma.
